Whitney Houston wasn't "hurting" the music industry by not releasing an album for ten years. Barry Sanders didn't "hurt" the NFL by retiring in his prime.
You "hurt" the sport by taking opportunities away from other people. You are spectacularly aggrandizing the issue.
He was at home for two years. Pretend he doesn't exist.
Besides the massive exposure the sport would get when these fights are made?
Besides (the obvious of) the best fighting the best creating another chapter in boxing history for decades to come?
Mayweather has skills to be the best, but by depriving the sport of some of it's greatest fights he is not doing boxing any good by fighting a no name prospect instead.
I think even you are getting tired of Floyd's antics. You are grasping at straws here. How did Whitney Houston* get mentioned in this thread?Last edited by ThePunchingBag; 10-15-2009, 02:51 AM.

And, Floyd is not bigger than boxing. However, to say that the face of American boxing not fighting top fighters do not hurt the sport is ridiculous bro. In the long run in won't hurt. Boxing will move on. It always dose. But right now it hurts. Mayweather vs the winner of Cotto-Pac, Mayweather-Mosley, Mayweather-Williams that would help the sport. And, if you not helping the sport you are basically hurting the sport.
If this fight happens. It will not be good for boxing. And, again no true boxing fan could defend him for taking this fight. BTW I don't think it would happen. But, if it dose it won't help the sport. And, if its not helping the sport it is not helping boxng. And, if this goes through I don't see how any so called boxing fan could be ok with it.
But, you right in the long run it will not hurt. But, right now today the sport of boxing would be hurting.
