You call Floyd the last lineal champ, but he defends the title against an unranked Ricky Hatton? Then retires??

John Daly reached his peak and continued to excel? At what , drinking?

Whitney Houston reached her peak and continued to excel? At what, crack use?

If Floyd reached his peak and decided to rematch Bruseles and Corley, that is his right. It would be a shame...but it's his right.

Champion, listen. Floyd isn't hurting the sport. He isn't taking ANYTHING away from anybody. It is HIS career to exploit, waste, trash, do whatever. If he is hurting anything, he is hurting himself...and that is his prerogative to do that. If fans don't like what he is doing, then they can vote with their pocketbooks and remote controls.

I see MANY posters talking about who "deserves a shot" at Floyd. First of all, in life, you don't get what you deserve. That is an infantile perspective. You get what you negotiate.
Secondly, "deserve a shot" at what? Floyd isn't sitting on a belt?!

I find the whole 'gnashing of teeth' pretty funny. Just ignore the dude. How is PBF forcing you to watch? Or listen? Or read? or pay?

            LOL @ this guy...

Nobody would say anything to Floyd if he didn't go around saying he was the best. Some people are just too naive to realize Floyd believes his own bull**** because the people around him have been feeding that to him since he was still coming up. He looks at people callin him to fight Shane as crazy being that's what he's being told, and his fans follow along.

I was a fan of his when he actually went and fought the Castillos, Coralles', etc. His team wants to preserve Floyd and make as much money as they can with him. Unless you look at Floyd as a circus show, him fighting Alvarez is a complete joke. He's better than that.

Reporter: Mayweather, how come you are fighting Alvarez?

Mayweather: Because im undefeated, and hes undefeated. You will see 2 of the best fight it out.

Reporter: Why not fight Shane Mosley?

Mayweather: Shane Mosley who??? The dude with 5 loses? Im the cream de la cream.

Boxing Fans…We need to stop letting these promoters AND fighters control our every emotion…

Boxing is no longer the focal point…It’s the money, I repeat, IT’S the MONEY$$$
All we’re seeing is jockeying for the right to claim the larger portion of the money pot…This is true for EVERY promoter, sanctioning body and boxer…and anyone who thinks differently is suffering from a serious case of delusion…

Our sport is in serious need of reform…

If it were up to the majority of fight fans, I think they’d choose to have Floyd and Manny fight first and if that fight can’t be made Cotto and Shane as a second option…

Great, instead of fighting a future hall of famer like shane mosley, he wants to fight a young mexican ron howard.

That's not Ron Howard. That's Ralph Malph. I always wondered what happened to him after Happy Days.

This is the weakest **** i've heard................

To even consider Canelo for a fight with FMJ is fuc.kin ludicrous....
I like Canelo but cat is an up and comer, very green and not even close to being ready for a title fight...he's still fighting no-names....

                      Saul Alvarez Rankings

                      WBC- #4

                      WBA - #6

                      WBO- #5

Even if it did take place which is doubtful, it is one basically meaningless fight but Alvarez could easily be the real deal. One fight is not that big of a deal one way or the other~
