The article says "maybe in a few years" and that Alvarez is a "dark horse." Dark Horse = Long shot.

I agree with people that this is a way to get Alvarez publicity basically for free. (The gate for 100,000 fans would be ridiculous though... hell, even half of that would be crazy.)

The thing is, doesn't it say a lot about Mayweather and how he carries himself that some people actually believe he would take this fight next year? If Mayweather fought the best elite welters this story would most likely be dismissed by the majority of fans on here, IMO.

The only reason people believe this is because of PBF's past pattern. If he didnt do things like this before nobody would even care. Bruseles anyone?
Add to this the fact that if it actually took place in Mexico the ticket gate money would be astronomical (Money is all he cares about) then one starts to think, my God this could happen.

The fight was named as a possibility (yes long shot) for next year. The "maybe in a few year" comment was written by the writer, referring to when he thought Alvarez might actually be ready for a fight with Floyd. But you're right, people are getting pretty worked up over a long shot.

No way mate , the only people entertaining this is the haters , the fans know Floyd is too big for these type of fights today , why dont you guys have a go at Hopkins his fight with a nobody is real , funny how a bull**** rumour concerning Floyd gets more attention than a fighter like Bhop really fighting a nobody , the double standards are amazing .

You mean 45 year old Hopkins? Amazing how people could hold Floyd to a different standard.
