I thought Boots would have inside track to Murtazliev, because he's IBF Champ @ 147? I would rather Boots get the IBF title, and unify with Ortiz Jr., Spence, or Crawford! Madrimov would be a good one, but not a BIG fight, like those 3!

I want to answer this honestly so bare with me, it's a little long.

The IBF doesn't have anything in the rules that automatically give the belt holder the right to challenge at a higher weight, it's not like the the WBO. The only inside track Ennis has is through Eddie Hearn and he can likely make the fight with Madrimov but it's a big risk, and for what?

Madrimov doesn't have a belt and In spite of what people say, Terrence Crawford isn't fighting Jaron Ennis because there's not enough time for Jaron to get something Crawford wants or needs. Sure, Turki could throw 40 million at it but that's multiple times what that fight today can make and for that reason, I don't think that's going to happen. Without Terrence, what's the rush?

Terrence is after Canelo because he believes he can win and more importantly, for the 40 - 50 million pay day. Off topic, if Crawford was offered 40 million to fight Jaron and instead fought some hump equivalent to Berlanga for 1/3rd, I'd lose all respect for him too....but I digress.

IMO, when considering that Jaron is a belt holder and young, it seems to me that unify at 147 makes more sense. Let the 154lb lions fight brutal wars of attrition eliminating one another and then move up to fight the last man standing. For a ton of money, in my era, when I'm the face and P4P, it's a guarantied lock.

Great post! Hopefully Teofimo Lopez isn't just name-dropping Boots Ennis? If he's serious then Turki should make it happen! Haymon didn't let Boots near Stanionis or Barrios, so I doubt he'll do it now that Boots is with Eddie Hearn! So if it's not Teo, I don't see why Boots should stay @ 147. Norman is interesting, not because anyone will give Boots credit for beating him, but the WBO MIGHT BE THE PATH HE SHOULD TAKE to get to a title shot @ 154!!!

I think Barrios might be willing to cash in for enough $$$ and Norman may not have a name but he has a belt with an elevation clause. More importantly, Eddie Hearn needs to put up the money....get Jaron sponsorships, a shoe deal, athletic equipment, Wheaties, insurance ads, go to work, pull him out of obscurity. Jaron is quiet but he's highly marketable like Ray Lenard and Oscar, he's very easy to like, it's all there.

BTW, Teofemo's tired act isn't fooling anyone. At 140 he's good, not great...at 147 he's in trouble and he knows it.

You've convinced me, Norman is the ticket, due to that "elevation clause!" Eddie has to do his due diligence on that Teo fight, if he's serious! TR has a deal with Turki, and Turki wants Boots to shine, so that's an easy way to do it! However, they shouldn't waste a lot of time on him! The only fighters I've seen with endorsement deals (TV commercials) are Canelo and Ryan!

It is incredible they are still talking about Spence. He does not have a trainer, has not been in the gym for a long time, refused to take a rematch with Bud even though he said he would and now they are talking about him as some important factor at 154. It is just money. Fundora is going to loose his next fight no matter who the opponent is. The real question is - who will pay the most for those two belts. Is Spence the way to cash out?

I can't see Spence beating fondora. However i can see Fondura ending the Spence hype train via Devasting uppercut.
