Canelo needed a robbery to beat past prime GGG. So, yes.

At their absolute peaks, Gennady Golovkin was most likely a better individual weight class Champion 'Than Canelo Alvarez'.

Canelo Alvarez has never dominated a single boxing division throughout his career, to the extent Gennady Golokvin did while he was a Champion at 160 pounds in my opinion.

Although Canelo Alvarez has achieved the feat of becoming, and undisputed Champion within the Super Middle Weight Divisions 'There have been fighters in other weight classes, who have been more dominant in their individual weight classes'.

To be a dominant Champion, it combines the level of a fighters individual performances 'And then the raw statistics of their title reign'. Gennady Golovkin was for sure, a more impressive 160 Champion than Canelo Alvarez, the level of Golovkin's performances in terms of the action produced was of a extremely high level.

Wladimir Kiltschko was a more dominant Champion within the Heavyweight Division 'Wladimir Kiltschko achieved a total of 24 successful Championship defenses 'And won 26 Championship level fights, from a total of 29 Championship level fights'.

Note: Canelo Alvarez overall as a pound for pound fighter, his attributes and skills most likely rate him higher than Gennady Golovkin in that arena. But as individual Champions at their peaks ? Gennady Golovkin was a more dominant individual weight class Champion.

To conclude: Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin in terms of ability and greatness are very close to each other. Both fighters have been dominant but in differing area's of boxing, Golovkin's dominance was more focused and centralized upon the Middle Weight Division. While Canelo Alvarez for a long time in his career, in my opinion? Never really dominated any weight class he had ever competed in, until he centralised his focus upon the Super Middle Weight Division's. Even still there have been more dominant, and impressive Championship reigns in boxing than Canelo Alvarez's regardless of him being the Undisputed Champion at 168 pounds.

Therefore, whoever people rate higher at their peaks is most likely personal preference between the two fighters.

Canelo Alvarez may not be at his absolute peak, but people must also acknowledge? That he is still the Undisputed Super Middle Weight Champion, Alvarez's Championship reign is still in effect' etc.

Canelo fought a 75% GGG in their first fight and lost 116-112.

Canelo fought a 50% GGG in their second fight and lost 115-113(but I could give Canelo a 112-112 if I was feeling generous).

Canelo fought a 25% GGG in their third fight and finally won, but still only a 115-113 type win over a 25% GGG.

Yes, a 100% GGG is better than a 100% Alvarez
