Crawford didnt "go a different route". He was legally obligated to wait for the Spence rematch, but Spence decided to clown around for 8 months instead of doing the rematch.....

He was IBF Mando for nearly 2 years! He wasn’t WBO #1 until Vergil decided to go after Stanionis! Remember, Spence had 3 belts, and fought on Showtime, so that was the target! Maybe you have Boots and Vergil confused?
