Comments Thread For: Ryan 'The Piranha' Garner hoping to catch big fights and big paydays

Ryan Garner was just 18 years old when he burst onto the British super-featherweight scene. Garner may have taken a more circuitous route to the top than many would have predicted or expected but after beating Archie Sharp at the O2 Arena on Saturday night, he finally looks poised for lift-off.

I thought Sharpe did a lot better than the scores reflected, He maybe moved too much for the judges. The way this fight looked might be a microcosm of next weeks Bud-Madrimov bout in that Bud is going to have to move a lot and reset - I don't believe he will want to sit and trade with the naturally stronger Madrimov - and although he will sit on his punches for a double or even treble he'll take two in return and those will be wearing punches.
    Can't wait.

Bud is a guy who always uses the first round to have a look and feel it out and then from that point you'll see how he's gonna approach the fight but he can also go through the gears if needed. Madrimov is a very good fighter but there is holes in his game that someone with the ring IQ of crawford can exploit.. if bud can go in there and stop Madrimov that's a statement even tho he won't get the love from the casual fans who are calling madrimov a nobody probably because he's not American. But even if he boxes to a points win it's still a very good win and it would be smart to do if the size does turn out to be a issue for him.

Ryan deserves a fight with Reece Bellotti.
