Live dog? Give me a break, this guy struggles with B and C level opponents. At this point Canelo is probably relieved that Benavides decided to stop chasing him....

I watch a lot of boxing, but have somehow missed Berlanga's entire career. After looking up his resume, I see why.

                wba and berlanga

in jan 2024 berlanga was ranked 8 by the wba
mccrory who he beat later that year was ranked 3
berlanga beats him and gets the no1 spot
                then he gets canelo
nice stuff going on there maybe

Hahahahahaha yea okay. Let’s revive the made-up Mexico vs Puerto rivalry to try to sell this fight to the mouth breathers. Canelo has fought some weak opponents. Mostly welters and junior welters, so I can’t say this guy is the worst, but as far as name recognition he may be the worst.

Conveniently, after Morrell - the previous #1 - takes a fight at Light Heavyweight and the WBA decides they should finally enforce the mandatory (definitely wouldn't enforce it while Morrell had the #1 spot). They're so far up Canelo's shoot they ran into Mauricio "Lemmiwinks" Sulaiman at his apartment in there and had some drinks.

It's lather, rinse, repeat / Groundhog Day with Canelo. I don't know why I even bother posting anything about his fights anymore. I think I'll stop. Maybe if a Crawford fight gets made - not because I think that is the fight that SHOULD be made - rather because I like Crawford.
