Did he have an exclusive contract with Showtime? Maybe? Even if he didn't he might have cut off that lifeline of being on Showtime.

Being British but having worked for Americans and also in America, one thing I came to realise is just how important loyalty is to Americans; more so than in Europe. He showed loyalty to Showtime and at the same time,, who knows, maybe his team decided that BLK Prime didn't have longevity. Or we can just run with the notion that Boots ducked Bud which I personally don't buy - I don't believe elite fighters are scared of risky fights except when it comes with a tremendous financial hit - Canelo vs Benny and even then it's not being scared of losing to the fighter but averse to losing a lot of money.

I never miss Daily Bread. Sure, I snipe from the lowlands like most but I'm smart enough to know that guys like Edwards and Virgil Hill come from a higher, more enlightened perspective. Great read always!

So why has Boots refused two fights and also walked away from being Bud’s mandatory ???
So in reality if Boots wanted the fight it was there for the taking

Boots was on a fight to fight basis which was told by Espinoza
Anyway being from North America myself , I find that loyalty you speak of to be long gone

            Where’s Showtime now?

That would have been a good payday for Ennis and if he had won it would have been legacy-defining. Dumb move imo, those are the type of risks that “avoided” fighters need to take. Same with Shakur Stevenson not accepting Devin Haney’s 25% purse split offer.

I get what you're saying - I think we'd all prefer they take all the fights but I'm just putting it out there why the fight might didn't happen

Interesting how you depict USA now - a shame if that is across the board - 2008 I got blasted by one USA boss for leaving and then 2 years later I resigned from my next position and that Texan lady hardly spoke to me again - she felt let down - loyalty issues again

I had a chance to settle in the US and sometimes regret not doing so -

Yeah maybe your that good at your job but in all honesty , loyalty is the last thing I’d say is a factor in North America
People all day long turning on one another
                  Sad isn’t it

Crawford offered Boots the fight twice. Boots rejected it. No point talking about offering it for the third time. Boots has nothing to offer to Crawford because Crawford is chasing legacy defining undisputed championship in a third weight division which has never been done.
