Comments Thread For: Chris Algieri's School of Thought: WBC shouldn't be encouraging Manny Pacquiao

It might be Manny Pacquiao - a living legend whose career speaks for itself - but after a layoff of three years, at 45 years old he should not be invited to bypass all of the contenders and walk straight into a world-title fight.

45 year old Manny Pacquio would obliterate Algeri in his prime.

You're talking out of turn, you bum.

So a former opponent can’t express an opinion that someone he lost to 10 years ago (who’s now 45 coming off a three-year layoff) shouldn’t come back?

Would Buster Douglas be talking out of turn if he said Evander Holyfield should stay retired?

Due to age, the knockdowns would probably be halved... so that would only be like, 3 then.

Maybe he can do exhibitions and the WBC can make up some phony belt for him.

I don't want to see him like Roy Jones in his late years, getting knocked out by guys that are just above journeyman.

What if they’ve become friends and Buster doesn’t wanna see his middle-aged friend get hurt?

I get the competitive aspect but what if the fighter he lost to doesn’t exist anymore?
