  • Happy Birthday to Julio Cesar Chavez Sr.

Might sound odd but I didn't expect Julio Cesar Chavez Sr to actually been born in a July.

    - First Mexican three division champion from super featherweight to super lightweight.
    - 87 Consecutive wins
    -Undefeated for 13 years
    - 27 undefeated title fights and 36 total championship fights
-3 years as the N.1 fighter in the P4P rankings from 1990 to 1992.
    - Boxer of the year in 1987 up to 1990
    - 136,274 spectators in Stadio Azteca.

-Has 18 wins over 15 Champions in Rafael Limon, Juan Laporte, Roger Mayweather X2, Rocky Lockridge, Edwin Rosario, Jose Luis Ramirez, Sammy Fuentes, Meldrick Taylor X2, Lonnie Smith, Hector Camacho, Greg Haugen, Frankie Randall X2, Tony Lopez, Giovanni Parisi, and Joey Gamache.

-Beaten 23 top ranked opposition such as Mario Martinez, Ruben Castillo, Francisco Tomas Da Cruz, Danilo Cabrera, Rodolfo Aguilar, Vernon Buchanan, Kenny Vice, Alberto Cortes, Kyung-Duk Ahn, John Duplessis, Tommy Small, Angel Hernandez, Frankie Mitchell, Marty Jakubowski X2, Terrence Ali, Andy Holligan, David Kamau, Scott Walker, Tony Martin Larry LaCoursiere, Ken Sigurani, Buck Smith, and Ivan Robinson.

If Adding a bit of context of the champions he beat, Limon was quite heavily declined fighter though there isn't actually tape to watch of this bout, while in the rematch against Randall, Julio should had been losing the bout prior the technical decision by the cut caused by a headbutt. He might also gotten some controversial decision wins out of his prime though not sure which fighters since I difficult to get to see all the fights.

Nonetheless impressive run, for the most part they were either on their prime or aging but formidable fighters. Two Hall Of Famers in Rosario and Camacho, though Ramirez might have an argument having had recorded wins over Rosario and Whitaker, controversial split decision loss to Arguello with a record of 102-8 (82 KOs)
