William Afflis – 290 IIb NFL lineman, and professional wrestler of the 50s/60s. Made a bit of a name of a name for himself by claiming he could beat any pro boxer in a street fight. Going as far as calling boxers “frauds” because they wore gloves and protectors. Brave words, until he happened to run in to Sonny Liston in the Thunderbird Casino, Vegas.

The story being that Liston followed him out, and then beat the living daylights out of him in the street. Then continuously slapped him until he apologised for his comments. Afflis tearfully apologised for everything he said, and announced to the watching crowd “I really just want to go back to Wisconsin now”.

tua and toney went at it at a hometown buffet once.

toney was still a cruiser at the time but don't get between james and the last piece of chicken.
