Hector Camacho Jr.: I'll settle family grudge against Yory Boy Campas

    PRESS RELEASE

Hector “Machito” Camacho Jr. stopped off in El Paso, Texas this week to hold a media workout for his upcoming PPV fight against Luis Ramon “Yory Boy” Campas which is being billed Latin Invasion 2: Revenge of the Son.

The media workout, which was at the L.A. Boxing Gym in El Paso included press from ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and Telemundo.

“This is my time, Junior time!" commented Camacho, “I demanded this fight with Campas. This is personal: he offended my father and my family. I know there are members of the media saying why Campas, but they need to remember that Campas is a really tough fighter who has fought the very best and held his own. Just because he is somewhat older does not mean he’s finished. Is Hopkins young? Is De La Hoya young? ”

Camacho went on to promise a punishing result to the highly anticipated fight on October 30th.

Zeferino Entertainment in association with Golden Boy Promotions presents LATINO INVASION 2 “The Revenge of the Son”. Hector “Machito” Camacho, Jr. vs. Luis “Yory Boy” Campas will be distributed live on pay per view by MultiVision Media, Inc. on Friday, October 30 at 9:00 PM ET/6:00 PM PT. The suggested retail price for LATINO INVASION 2 “The Revenge of the Son”is $24.95.

The venue of the fight will be the Don Haskins Center at the University of Texas at El Paso. Tickets are priced at $25, $40, $60 and $100. Tickets are available at the UTEP Ticket Center, or by calling Ticketmaster 1-800-736-1420 and online at www.ticketmaster.com.

“This fight card will provide great entertainment for the boxing enthusiast”, said promoter Zeferino Ramirez. “The fight fans will see a tough fight with some good solid boxing with the Camacho Jr. vs. Campas brawl. Campas will make ‘Machito’ rise to the occasion and will either wipe the smile off his face or he will have to get on a horse and ride into the sunset”, added Ramirez.”

The promoter added, “As for Camacho Jr., he will face an opponent who has fought the best and is still going strong. He needs to demonstrate that he can deal with an experienced fighter or see his title aspirations fade away.”

Camacho went on to promise a punishing result to the highly anticipated fight on October 30th.

"I'm knocking him out! He's definitely not on my level and I'll show the world October 30.”

Hector stated, “Everyone can see that I am really serious about my boxing career. I am training seriously and keeping my weight in check. I need for the media to show a young man some support and some respect. I think I’ve earned that.”

“I have great goals and I want to be in a better position for next year. I can’t re-build my boxing career in one or two fights, but I deserve the same opportunity as so many other fighters out here. This is not an easy career but it’s the career I love. I belong in boxing and I want to be someone the young kids can look up to.”

“If anyone thinks that stepping into the ring against Campas is easy they’re crazy. He hits hard and makes you pay for every mistake. This Mexican has heart and has some balls. He’s a former world champion who kicked ass.

“Mexican fighters are known for their toughness, for never giving up. This fight is going to be really good one and I know the fight fans will be pleased. I am asking the media for their support so the fans can know I’m fighting. Doesn’t a young man who is dedicated and committed to this business deserve some support?”

“Beating Campas means getting over the hump for me. That’s how Vargas did it and how Trinidad did it. Once I beat Campas I get the opportunity to fight the big guys. Campas is an idol in Mexico. Mexicans don’t say he’s old – they say, he’s tough, he’s good.”
