    Morales/Diaz

What would you guys think about the chances of an Erik Morales/Juan Diaz fight coming off? Someone brought it up on another thread (Jpboxer) and it sounded like it'd make for a very interesting fight. I think it'd be very high action and would be a good risk for Morales if he should go up to 135...since Diaz doesn't have remarkable power.

I think Morales would win a close decision over Diaz...using his range, chin, and experience to outpoint the "Baby Bull".

Juan Diaz is the future of Main Events, they will NEVER let their cash-cow fight someone as good as Morales, Barrera, Castillo, Corrales, etc etc....at least not in the next 2 years or so, the kid is too young at this point

No he's at 135 and he isn't a hard puncher.

            Morales would really school Juan.....

people forget...Morales isn't a prospect or contender...people made him out to be one before the El T/Pacman fight...the man is a YOUNG legend in his prime...great boxing skills...great chin...great experience...

Juan Diaz would be the one taking the risk

Agreed. I guess I just slipped by using the word "risk". I should have said it would be a good first fight/win/belt if he moves up.

Well, the only reason I mentioned Diaz as a possible opponent is because a few years ago,in a post-fight interview after a fight he had on NBC,Juan Diaz mentioned Erik Morales as a possible opponent for his next fight.I found that kinda odd 2yrs ago,but I think now that Diaz has built his stature,it might have a better chance of happening now.

it would be a good fight, morales probably will move up to 135 soon because i keep hearing rumors about how tough it is for him to make weight at 130...if he gets a shot at the baby bull, morales schools him but wouldn't knock him out. the baby bull isn't a big puncher but morales won't be either at 135. i could see morales having real trouble with castillo though, he won't have the power to keep JL off him, and with the wifebeater's( corrales) long reach and big punches
