It wasn't a mandated fight; can't get paid to step aside unless contracts had been signed, which I don't think was the case.

Just when you thought this site couldn't hit a new low, they come up with this. I won't even call this corner of the street talk, sound like one of the writers kid got access to his dad's laptop or perhaps said writer was still high from last from a wild night and decided to write a piece or maybe James Prince got a gun to somebody's head to stump for Shakur by writing this piece. Nothing from it makes sense: Loma will fight the winner in 2016, now changed to early 2024, which still doesn't make sense, so Davis can become more popular if he wins. I doubt Shakur is even on the radar for either one of them especially after another meh performance last night. This is truly embarrasing

Wouldn't make sense for Loma to go this route unless he planned to fight his fellow countrymen in the interim.

Also Davis is likely to have a rematch clause if he were to lose and Loma would have to wait until at least late 2025 for his shot.

If Loma is stepping aside, three things cross my mind. He doesn't want any parts of Davis, he's hoping that Davis and Stevenson take something out of each other when fighting, or he's hoping that the attention that Davis and Stevenson draws will allow Loma's purse to increase should he face the winner.
