Elio 'enai' Rojas Challenges Juanma Lopez!

"El boxeador dominicano Elio "Enai" Rojas lanzó este martes un reto al monarca mundial supergallo puertorriqueño Juan Manuel López y dijo que "estaré listo para que nos enfrentemos por el campeonato pluma, que está en mi poder".

Mientras que el empresario Antonio -Tony- Tineo, apoderado de Enai Rojas, dijo que ya ha establecido comunicación con el promotor Bob Arum, presidente de la compañía Top Rank, para que se firme un combate entre el pugilista criolllo resisdedente en Nueva York y Juanma López.

Para que se dé este combate debe haber, además, un acuerdo económico entre Don King y Bob Arum...por una sencilla razón: Don King es el promotor de Enai Rojas.

Juanma López, el pasado sábado -en una sangrienta pelea montada en el Madison Square Garden de Nueva York- retuvo su corona supergallo de la Organización Mundial de Boxeo al derrotar por decisión unánime al africano Rogers Mtagwa.

López, aunque tuvo serios problemas, especialmente en los últimos tres rounds, logró salir airoso en buena lide ante su valiente rival que sufrió su revés número trece con 26 victorias.

El peleador boricua nativo de Caguas mantuvo su invicto en su joven carrera profesional. Ahora su registro es de 27 victorias sin fracasos y 24 nocauts.

Tony Tineo dijo que Don King no va a tener ningún problema para que Enai Rojas y López crucen guantes, pero, precisó, la pelea sería por el cetro pluma que ostenta el quisqueyano y que tiene el aval del Consejo Mundial de Boxeo (CMB).

Enai Rojas se adueñó del cinturón pluma del CMB al vencer por decisión unánime al japonés Takairo Aoh en combate realizado en Japón el pasado 14 de julio.

Según Tony Tineo, una pelea Enai Rojas-Juanma López tendría como escenario el MadisonSquare Garden de Nueva York..."y estoy seguro que al Madison se meteráan más de 18 mil fanáticos".

Enai Rojas, quien habló por intermedio de Tony Tineo, dijo que "esperaré a que Juanma Lópe acepte el reto que acabo de lanzarle.Vamos,que acepte el reto para que podamos pelear en Nueva York por el título pluma del Consejo Mundial de Boxeo".

Precisamente Bob Arum, minutos después de que Juanma López derrotara a Matgwa, y de esa manera retuviera su corona supergallo de la OMB -quinta defensa-, reveló que "nuestro interés ahora es que López vaya a una pelea por el título pluma".

Pero no citó posibles rivales del invicto monarca boricua que ha declarado que se tomará un "merecido descanso" tras batallar violentamente en 12 rounds con el africano Mtagwa quien tuvo apunto de noquearlo en el 12avo round.

Tineo dijo que Enai Rojas se encuentra en Nueva York y entrena en un moderno gimnasio...pero sus entrenamientos son suaves porque todavía no hay un rival en el camino. Queremos que la próxima pelea de Enai Rojas, en juego su corona mundial pluma, sea contra el boricua Juan Manuel López".

Apuntó que "esperamos que su gente y el propio Juan Manuel López acepten este reto y que la pelea se dé en Nueva York. Y veremos si es verdad que Juanma López es tan guapo que lo pintan los boricuas".

Rojas wants the fight in MSG and that wont happend, because HBO have already set the day and the venue.

So I guess this is helping Caballero a lot, wich is the fght that should be made!!!

I'm not sure what you mean....Rojas vs Lopez is already set to happen? I'm not sure about that. I heard Lopez was set to fight some other unknown fighter. Can you clear this up for us...please!!!

Nope. Juanma dont have a opponent yet.

What I meat was that HBO already separated a date and Puerto RIco as the venue. So Juanmas next fight will be in PR, nomatter who he faces!!

Seems to like this fight has less of chance then the Caballero fight for a lot of reasons. First, they are in two different divisions. Second, Elios style (imho) would give Juanma a lot of problems. And third, I don't see Arum going along with this fight anytime soon.

I would love to see this fight. Elio Rojas is no joke man I think he would beat Juanma. They have that amateur fight (won by Rojas) which means nothing in the pros, absolutely nothing, but it does spark a little interest, to me at least.

Well, I don't know if I would go as far as saying that him beating him in the amateurs means absolutely nothing in the pros. I think Juanma would atleast have a little bit more respect for him because of it. That much I believe.
