I think Ryan is a product of his generation and growing up with social media as a child. You take comments to heart and have thin skin. When people are praising you and giving you likes, everything is great. When the likes aren't adding up and the comments turn vile, you don't know what to do but bottle it up inside. Up until you finally implode which will vary depending on the individual and how they deal with it.
