I'd like to see £ddie stage a show somewhere in the med featuring the likes of Fisher, John Hedges, George Liddard & Jimmy Sains. "Party on"!!.........

Only a small chance this goes to the cards - but if it does Babic isn't winning

One thing that annoys me about British sports, British boxing (and British culture in general) is that people seem to pick and choose athletes they're willing to support and follow purely on the merit of them liking them over their actual talent. I've nothing against Fisher, seems like a cool guy with a good amount of power....but then I would absolutely not be shocked if Babic somehow takes him out. Not because Babic is any good but because Fisher was never anything worth talking about in the first place.

I noticed something similar during the wardley clarke fight. Wardley was being built up as this killer who Clarke had no chance against, turned out Wardley sc****d a draw despite the knockdown and a point deduction. It definitely seemed that people bought into the hype created by Matchroom and Eddie whilst thinking a guy whose essentially a white collar fighter who turned pro was going to walkover a seasoned Olympic bronze medalist.

This is an hilariously accurate take, we do love to forge a connection with an athlete based on likeability.

Best example of all was probably Bruno, with Wardley we just love that he fights so hard because he's kinda posh when he talks lol.

The odds for Wardley vs Clarke were definitely insane, I agree there's no way should he have been favourite.

Ricky Hatton was popular because he had all the flaws of the average brit culture

He sniffed gear and drank himself into a fat mess outside training camps and the average casual weekend pub crawler could somehow relate to a professional athelete and it gave them hope they could be more than what they are.

Fisher loves a chinese takeaway so its obvious why hes popular to the casuals

Theres nothing unexplainable about it, hes pretty much custom made to have some popularity within the UK market.

Hes never getting to world level but hes fun to watch and could end up being a perennial undercard/co-main attraction type guy.
