Olympic Boxing is one of the oldest sports that there is. I think it sets a stage for many things, like a springboard for the athletes, most especially the medalist. It seems to also breed long term rivals, amongst all nations. It allows us to see the future boxers of the world, who wouldn’t otherwise see this opportunity if they don’t compete. I do advocate for professional boxers to be barred from competing.
Look at what it has done for the athletes!!! We cannot allow this ridiculous removal of the sport in the Olympics to happen! Too many reasons to list!

Boxing is one of the least contrived, and still one of the most popular sports in the world. I get that with the end of the Cold War there is an avenue for competitors from all over the world to compete with one another directly to determine a world champion outside of the Olympics. But that doesn't diminish the importance of Olympic boxing to the sport, and to sports as a whole.
It makes no sense to get rid of the sport, and I don't really see what the detriment is to keeping it.landotter
