Clagget tough guy but 35 and has light power. Lopez should be in his prime and that was the perfect opponent to show he is special. He won moving backwards the entire fight and never hurt Clagget with any big shots. Agree with others, his power has not carried.
He is going to get stopped if he fights Bud and likely by Ennis. He won't have the power to hurt guys at all any higher and his entire career has been built on the big power.Last edited by Theshotyoudontsee; 06-30-2024, 10:23 AM.Comment

This. Lopez only beat Loma because of Loma's shoulder causing the slow start, pretty obvious. And he beat Taylor but not by a mile, and Taylor is a bit past. Lost to Ortiz in an ugly asked fight.

The two best boxers in the world today are both OVER 35 years old.Comment

That’s right. Teo a natural lightweight; Was knocking out much smaller guys who were moving up several weight classes in order to fight him. However, since moving up to 140. He is no longer fighting the natural Junior featherweights and Featherweights of the world. He is now fighting guys who naturally closer to his own size and are perhaps even wider and stronger than himself. Which explains his lack of power at Junior welterweight,Comment

35 is not ancient like it used to be, but those three guys are three of the most talented boxers of this generation. Clagget is a tough guy with alot of heart but he is not an elite talent by any means. The point being, Lopez is touted as a generational type special fighter. Last night was a test and honestly it was Arum giving Teo a way to redeem himself after Ortiz. Teo should have stopped him. And Teo took shots all night as well and his face was swollen as hell. Teo won but it was closer than it appeared.
That isn't dogging Clagget, he did his job. But at this point Teo has now shown consistently that he is a bit overrated IMO.

Let's be real Teofimo Lopez can't beat his whole division least he attempt to attract a welterweight, In fact I would pick Gervonta by KO, easy too! He should never mention the GREAT Terrence Crawford name, ever!

I only saw the highlights but Teo not looking so good. Weird, one minute I'm impressed with the dude and the next I'm not.Comment

Teo looked emaciated at the weight in. Looks like he is struggling to get to 140. I just don’t see him being successful at 147. Similar predicament as Haney.Comment

Lopez is between a rock and a hard place. He's not going to be able to beat all the top contenders in such a deep 140 division and already said he is not interested in them. I see Ennis knocking him out and maybe even Stannionis outworking Lopez. His best shot is Barrios. Lopez is incredibly athletic and he does turn it up when he is the underdog. But he has to be motivated by a title since he mentioned he is not interested in 140 contenders. I just don't see Crawford coming back to 147 and he'd torch Lopez. His star power is based on big wins but that wanes when he fights non-elite contenders and will wear out his welcome if he doesn't fight the best.Comment
