            floyd has been everywhere latley. TV interviews, magazine covers, etc...... wether u like it or not thats good for the sport

              People always claim this when a single fighter is seen here and there. But it's not good for the sport. It's good for Floyd Mayweather.

                    Alright, let me rephrase because I don't want to single out Floyd. Most boxing superstars are self-serving. They're not out there promoting the sport as a whole, just their own career.

                    Here's the best example I can come up with - Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao going on a media tour isn't going to remind fans that the Super Six tournament begins this weekend. It will just remind them the next time either guy fights.

                    Not that Floyd shouldn't do what he's doing, quite the contrary. In fact, if more fighters took the time to put their name out there the way he does rather than depend on someone else to do it for them (which they won't), THEN we can it's good for the sport.

                    In fact, it's not even the fighters that are to blame, but the way the sport is structured. We don't benefit from free-network coverage, and most of what's offered on basic cable is nowhere nearly indicative of the sport at its best.

                    I don't know if that makes any more sense.
