Was his power as good as advertised?

Naz moved to Featherweight all the way from Super Flyweight. So in answering your question... Yeah, he punched hard for the weight. One of the biggest punchers P4P in history.

His record of 31 KOs out of 36 wins seems to suggest so.

      He beat:

Steven Robinson (21 Wins, 9 Losses and 1 Draw) to attain the WBC title. Hamed Won by round 8 TKO.

Manuel Medina (52 Wins and 7 Losses), he beat multiple featherweight champions like Juan Polo Perez, Alejandro Gonzalez, Steve Cruz, Hector Lizarraga, Frank Toledo X2, Scott Harrison, Tom Johnson, and Kevin Kelley. Hamed stopped him in the eleventh round.

Vuyani Bungu (32 Wins, 2 Losses) by fourth round KO. He beat Kennedy Mckinney by split decision to become IBF Super Bantamweight champion and also won in the rematch, Bungu also beat guys like Takalani Ndlovu X2, Jesus Salud, and Danny Romero.

Cesar Soto (54 Wins, 7 Losses, 2 Draws) WBC featherweight chapion. Who knocked out Jose Luis Castillo in two rounds. Soto lost by UD.

Paul Ingle (21 Wins and 0 Losses) who beat two accomplished champions in Manuel Medina and Junior Jones. Hamed stopped him in round eleven.

Wayne McCullough (22 Wins and 1 Loss), before coming off a close split decision to Daniel Zaragoza and Fighting Naseem hamed. He beat multiple champions like Victor Rabanales, Yasuei Yakushiji, Johnny Bredahl and Jose Luis Bueno. He also gave tough bout to Erik Morales. He broke to KO streak of both Hamed and Morales. Hamed having beaten 18 opponents by KO.

Wilfredo Vazquez (50 Wins, 7 Losses, 2 Draws and 1 No Contest) the declining but still top contender Puerto Rican WBA featherweight champ lost in a unification bout after going in 8 Win streak. He had beaten Yuichi Kasai, Juan Carazo, Orlando Canizales, Raul Perez, and Park Chon-Yong. Vazquez was stopped in the seventh round.

Kevin Kelley (41 Wins, 1 loss and 2 Draws.), Kelley beat Jesus Salud, Gregorio Vargas, Derrick Gainer, and Humberto Soto. Kelley was stopped in the fourth round.

Tom "Boom Boom" Johnson (42 Wins, 2 Losses, 2 Draws), Johnson had beaten Sugar Baby Rojas, and Manuel Medina X2 after losing once to him. Johnson was stopped in 8 rounds.

Stopped 7 out of 9 tested champions. That has to be pretty good.

Because of his overconfident abrasive personality like Hector "Macho" Camacho, people seem to dislike him, discrediting his accolades using his only loss to a fellow upcoming top fighter in Barrera as a pretext that his competition wasn't that good beforehand which it's not true.
