Because canceling a fight, especially a huge one, a day or two before fight night is a huge disappointment not only for investors but also for fans. Fans only care when their fighter loses. That's when crying begins. I couldn't even remember how many number of times where positive results were announced a week or weeks after the fight is already done. Mostly slapped on insignificant fighters.

In Conor Benn's case his fight with Eubank was canceled on the eve of the fight. Man that was brutal. They must really hate Eddie Hearn over there. Just proves it's truly a FKD up sport. There is no consistent system that they follow. They make decisions based on what they feel at the moment. You can count the number of cancellations in one hand throughout recent memory because of PED usage. So they'd rather allow the fights to go ahead, then announce the PED results later. They're not protecting fighters. They're protecting people in the business.
