  • Does Israil Madrimov Pose Any Real Threat To T-Bud Crawford

How good are his chances outside of a puncher’s chance

I am unfamiliar with this fighter

He will be tough and durable and probably have some moments, but TC class and speed will be too much.

Israil Madrimov is a complete fighter that some might be underestimating due to his short record.

In his debut he utterly dominated Vladimir Hernandez until he got a round 6 TKO. Vladimir went to upset multiple highly touted prospects like Lorenzo Simpson and Guido Schramm. He also was winning against a young Jesus Ramos until he got caught and lost quite controversially to Troy Isley though that's a personal opinion. He also beat veterans that were declining but were physically speaking still top competitors in Aaron Coley (16-2), Alfredo Angulo (25-7), and Julian Williams (27-2-1).

Then he went to utterly dominate and stop top light middleweight contender Michel Soro in the 9th round. Soro was never stopped before and had pretty close loss to Brian Castaño and a very quite controversial loss to Madrimov's recent opponent Magomed Kurbanov. He had a draw in the rematch against Madrimov because he got a cut very early on the fight and the bout was stopped in the third round.

A normal spectator would think Madrimov's recent performance was his best, but honestly Kurbanov was gifted multiple decisions in his hometown against Liam Smith and even Patrick Texeira. Normally he wouldn't even be a top 10 fighter without his promotional backing by RCC Boxing promotions.

So not sure considering these are just individually two performances against opponents of different styles, I don't think he should be the favorite. But people will be shocked how challenging this Uzbek will be, if Crawford wins he should get a lot of credit for beating the WBA champ while moving up in a weight division.

No. This is going to be target practice.

          I think he's Bud's biggest challenge TBH

but then Eddie said that, so now I'm conflicted.

Did someone call him a complete fighter? He isn't. He's a good fighter though and he stopped doing a lot of foolish over moving that left him out of position frequently.

He's a good fighter that shouldn't be on Crawford's level (but then again, nobody really is). The biggest question is how will Crawford be. He's spoken about taking a break, getting his due, etc. He's been inactive for a year now. He's 36. If he let himself go after the Spence win, he can absolutely be upset.
