You're talking about a guy that recently got outboxed by a 46 year old shot fighter.

NORMALLY, when a normal (pun intended) fighter, who wants to become world heavyweight champion so that he can REALLY rake in the money [that's what it's all about folks] is presented with at least ONE title shot against the fighter with whom he'll derive much glory if he wins, as well as a very big payday, which he'll get even if he loses, he GRABS with both hands...

To me, the set-up he had with the Klitschkos was a fighters "dream" the possiblility of having at least ONE top fight, and, if successful up to THREE top fights each one paying him largely increased money..........

Boxers strive all their boxing years to attain such a "motherlode". And indeed it could have been a goldmine for him, because even if he lost, but did well, there would have been a demand by the public to see him fight the "udder brudder".
      For big money !!.

Now he's going to fight the champion who will require the most complicated tactics to survive give a crowd-pleasing fight, and attempt to win. And, if he beats him, his appearance value won't go up all that much, since Valuev is the least fan-popular champion.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?? NO not that type of suggestion...
Because of Setanta's bankruptcy Haye would have been had no guaranteed purse for fighting Vitali - not even one cent.

He was offered no guaranteed money by Sky; and Vitali would have got 100% of the non-Sky worldwide TV money, 100% of the sponsorship money and 100% of the gate receipts.

He's getting paid far more for fighting Valuev than he was offered to fight Vitali, and he believes that winning a belt will give him some leverage to get a better financial deal to fight one of the Klitschkos next year.

It may not have helped his credibility but it made a lot of business sense.

Well that's because Evander is an ATG nad had a gameplan which he could apply.

Haye is far from and has never been tested in this type of situation.

A completely shot ATG who had been outclassed by Ibragimov in his previous fight.

He'll use a similar gameplan and has the speed to do so effectively.

Does he have the stamina, the mental toughness, the output and movement to do this?

That's gonna be interesting to see.

We'll see about the mental toughness. Also whether he's got the self-discipline, because he does have a track record of losing his self-discipline and forgetting the gameplan.

He's got the other things you mentioned, though. People make far too much of him getting gassed once, by punching himself out naively, more than five years ago, in only his 11th professional fight. That wasn't lack of stamina, it was naive tactics, similar to Wlad-Brewster I. Since then, he's never shown any signs whatsoever of having any stamina problems.

And he has plenty of movement and output.

Agreed,he hlosses the gamepan way to easy for my tastes.

Maybe the stamina is outplayed and it definetely has improved but another thing is his chin which is questionable.
Me personally I don't like his movemnent in general and his output vs Valuev is gonna be drained, remains to be seen in what manner. With Valuev he can't do what he normally does,he can't stay inside or close too much and he will be constantly moving.
That''s unless hetakes the Monte Barrett approach which is 50/50.
