In this particular situation with Canelo and Benavides, if it quacks and walks like a duck, it's a duck. Now, I'm not saying Canelo is scared of Benavides but he's definitely not eager to face him, call it what you will. I think eventually Canelo will have his hand forced, especially with the Mexican fans and media who are constantly calling Canelo a punk for not taking the fight, so I believe that bothers him which will lead him to accept the fight, something similar happened when fans called him out for not fighting GGG which he eventually did, so we will see what happens.

I will say this is the trend in boxing now with the so called best, look at Tank, looking for a fight with old man Loma instead of giving Pitbull a rematch or fighting Stevenson, he's definitely ducking. Look at Crawford, made a whole career of fighting lower tier belt holders and not taking serious challenges, it took a car accident, eye surgery, and multiple years of letting Spence outgrow the division so he can be wait drained when he finally agreed to take on him, which by the way is the only signature win Crawford has in his whole career and people have the audacity to call him p4p , and he still continues his trend and ducks Ennis, so he's a duck. At least Canelo has taken serious challenges in his career but this is a fight he definitely needs to make happen, if not, he's a duck just like the others....
