Liam Paro stunned Subriel Matias via unanimous decision to score the IBF junior welterweight title in his Puerto Rico rival's hometown on Saturday.

Team Paro came up with an excellent gameplan. Paro kept his hands and feet moving the whole fight not letting Matias set his feet. Those hard body shots in-between the peppering shots gave Matias something to think about. Had Matias let his hands go earlier, I think Paro would've KOd him late.
I believe we have a Kambosos situation. Matias will not get the rematch as Paro will ride this out and get proper compensation as he should. Personally I believe Matias stops Paro if they rematch. Leading up to the fight, Matias seemed like he was definitely looking past him.
Matias don't talk about it, be about it, get Eddie Hearn to get you two quick fights before the year ends.
If your able to beat two solid fighters in spectacular fashion, you'll be back on your way to the top.
Once you get there, there'll be no time to play around anymore, because you only have a few more years left in boxing.
Mathis needs to prove he can fight movers. Because Teo and Mathis have trouble with movers and both prefer fighters that stand in front of them, Teo vs Mathis would be an interesting fight. But, with each having different promoters, good luck.
But, since ESPN is not going to renew Top Rank’s exclusive deal, and with Turkie desperate to firm a boxing league which gets rid of the promoters, maybe 2025 could see a true boxing revival.
Having inside knowledge and knowing Turkie wants to emulate the UFC model, fighters would be wise not to renew their promotional contracts with TR, PBC, Golden Boy, Matchroom, and Queensberry. The Saudi vision is to get fighters from those 5 promoters, knowing other fighters will just fall in line and follow the leader.
Reports about the Saudi’s buying out TR. PBC, Golden Boy, MR, and Queensberry are far fetched.
Instead, there are talks about the Saudi’s possibly buying TR. Keep in mind that ESPN is not going to renew TR deal when the contract expires in 2025. Also, when Arum was born, people were still writing in hieroglyphics. The time has come for Bob to ride into the sunset.
One obstacle that the Saudi’s will face is legal action by the FTC over a monopoly. The Saudi’s think they can set up several independent companies to accomplish their goal. However, such a plan will get the same treatment AT&T got in the days of the Baby Bell’s which AT&T also owned, and the FTC forced AT&T to break up the monopoly.
I will update readers here as I get more inside info.
