The US used to have boxing in the high schools and universities. I wish that could be revived.

The real secret for Japanese success is the sushi they eat. Tuna provides high amounts of protein, while udon noodles provides the carbs for endurance. They get off reading about the Samurai.

On the other hand, US fighters diet on weed and Doritos, while listening to rap music, UK fighters prefer their Guinness stout, weed, and biscuit’s. That’s the secret.

As someone who is half Japanese, I am immensely and undeservedly proud of someone else's accomplishments, like a lot of Chicanos.

Good thread! It will be interesting to see what the success of Naoya Inoue will do to influence more World Champion Boxers in Japan.

Mexican and Japanese Boxing is thriving right now.
