Matchroom were paying for all the build up/ re build fights for Devin but when the money shot fights came in unification or Ryan they were side lined as he went to Top Rank or Golden Boy so it probably wasn't a great business to be in. Understand why Devin did that good for him and the sport but hard to see why he should be bitter about it,

In boxing over the last decade or so, unfortunately one's stock goes down quite a lot with just one defeat, especially if you got beaten up a bit.

Even with all the drama that's been going on, people would obviously prefer to see Ryan, who won their fight, than Devin, in action.
