Hearn was so sure that in Mathis he had the boogeyman in the 140 pound division that he didn’t even consider a rematch clause.
Now Paro can make the Aussies proud after the Kambosos loss and the 2 round KO of hype job “Pretty Boy”s” very ugly loss to old man Lara. Kambosos loss was bad, but Pretty Boy’s loss was an embarrassment to Aussie boxing.

Yep. He deserves a homecoming fight in Australia. He caught a big fish or so-called boogeyman in his own backyard. Not to mention Paro been on the road for most of his fights. Matias' homecoming fight was premature in comparison and presumably didn't make a dent in ratings. Lucky for Paro for taking the fight. He struck gold here.

I thought it was a mandatory so you wouldn't have one? As Hearn was had both sides I doubt he cared and as Matias was getting Paro to his hometown he can'tr really complain.

Hearn is limited with how he can move Paro. Hearn has Haney )WBC) , Paro (IBF) and Hitchins under contract with Matchroom. Haney is under the illusion that he’s a PPV star, not realizing that Garcia is solely responsible for the PPV numbers when they fought.
The other 140 champions are:
Issac Cruz…. WBA…..PBC
Teo Lopez …..WBO…..TR
Hitchins is now Paro’s IBF mandatory.
Haney v Paro as a PPV fight is a bust in the US because nobody know Paro here.
Haney v Paro is possible for WBC and IBF unification in Australia but, there’s several big problems. Matchroom would have to pay Hitchins step aside money and Hearn is known to be be very cheap in that regard as he always looks after his pockets first. Then the IBF has a rehydration clause where fighters cannot be more than 10 pounds over the 140 weight the morning of the fight. This is a major problem for Haney who fights at least 156-160 going into the ring.. Both PBC and TR aren’t going to do Hearn any favors and sacrifice their fighter to fight a Matchroom fighter. Bob Arum can’t stand Hearn so Teo is definitely out. PBC can easily market Pit Bull in the US given the huge Mexican following.
Hitchins v Paro is NOT a draw in the US. The fight would draw better in Australia. Hearn is happy to ship his fighters to fight in opponents hometowns if he can make more money for himself. Ask Sandy Ryan who he shipped to Florida to fight McCaskill for a paltry purse of 75K because he got free rooms and meals from the Caribe Royale hotel. Sandy clearly won the fight but Jessica got a home cooking draw.
Hearn can make Paro v Cantrell as that fight would sell in the UK. But, Paro and Catterall will force Hearn to reach into his Saudi pockets to pay both fighters, something Hearn is reluctant to do when he has to sacrifice his own money.
In the end, Hearn will be forced to sacrifice Haney or Hitchins to fight Paro because at least in Australia, Paro is the draw. I believe he sacrifices Haney after the beating he took from Garcia. It’s highly questionable if Haney can recover from the Garcia beating. With Mathis possibly being a bust, Hearn must of had brain fog not having a rematch clause. The Mathis loss in his hometown was something Hearn never imagined. Big mistake on Hearn’s part. I’m sure DAZN is not happy with his lapse in thinking.
