Who has the better footwork, Hatton or Cotto?

The reason I ask is because Ricky Hatton easily got to PAC when they fought. Hatton cut the ring and closed the distance better than anyone I seen against Pacquaio. The only problem for Ricky is his amateur defense. If Cotto is to bring the fight the Pacman he would need those legs quick and strong or else Manny will just dance around and pot shot him all night just like he did to De La Hoya. Thoughts...

The key to beating Pac is to be able to get in using good defence and then hit him with hard punches, I only see PBF and SSM as being able to do this.

Ricky Hatton had excellent footwork, it made him an exceptional fighter when all the rest of his skills were mediocre. It is better than Cotto's, which is damn good as well.

        Cotto's footwork is better.

        Hatton's footwork is faster.

Youre right. Cotto's legs are only good for six rounds though...

Ricky has better footwork. His defence and in recent times his punch resistance is what lets him down. Cotto cuts off the ring more intelligently.

Cotto also has an underrated jab.

If you are talking about footwork to cut off the ring it goes to Cotto.

PAC's jab and body work is underrated too.
