The Strategy Behind Slow Starting And Give Away Early Rounds

What’s the reasoning behind this. I understand why fighters will use the first one or even two rounds to feel out the opponent

But some will give up the entire first third of a fight

I don't think it is an intentional strategy to go out and lose early rounds or give them away.

It's usually the "thinkers" in boxing that will lose a good 3 rounds just figuring out their opponent without taking too much damage.

Once that pattern and rhythm is downloaded, that's when we see those "thinkers" takeover.

I don't just mean Tank either. Lomachenko lost 6 rounds against Teofimo just to completely out box him the very next 6 rounds. He lost on cards but that's clearly the risk being that kind of thinking boxer.
