  • Why do so many people look down on the Cruiserweight division?

When I was a young boy, I was watching TV with my father and as he was flipping channels, he stopped on a channel that was about to show a fight. When the announcer stated it was a cruiserweight fight, my dad yelled out "CRUISER!??????" and immediately changed the channel. He then stopped on a channel that was about to show a welterweight fight and he said "that's more like it"

My question is, why do people look down on the cruiserweight division?

Good cruiser weights always try to make it at heavyweight

Deontay is a life long cruiser
    David haye
    Usyk
    etc

so the talent pool is drained. It’s no man’s land.

It's very simple, Cruiserweight has a s t u p i d name. Casuals don't know what a Cruiserweight is and it's in a weird spot between Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight, it's confusing.

Here's a solution, switch Cruiser with LHW, problem solved.

The weight classes would then look something like this,

            Cruiserweight - 175
            Light Heavyweight - 200
            Jr. Heavyweight - 224
            Heavyweight - Unlimited

The lack of American talent and fighters in general in the division.
