Saudi oil money is a short-term solution. Without it, then what?
Standard was set so high that no fighter would accept anything less.
It's a band-aid solution that would worsen the long-term situation.

God, we might just be entering a golden age of boxing. Undefeated records won't exist anymore. Best fighting the best. No more American A-side/B-side fraud behaviour

The stink of Floyd will be lifted from boxing.
What perplexes me so much about idiots like this is the utter hate you have for America but also you utter reliance on it. You hate American boxing but desperately want to keep being a part of it. If you want Minister Turki da Smurki to take over boxing si bad why don't you just advocate that he take over world boxing minus North America. YHe can start a new league filled with West and East Europeans, Asians, Middle Eastern and everyone else around the world. Just leave the Americans and Mexicans alone. Focus on yourself. Try and be a better person and the the Yankees do what we do...DOMINATE BABY!

Well cut America out of boxing and nothing much would be lost at this stage. Its pretty much over.

Ask yourself how many losses Haney/Gervonta would have if they actually fought the best?

All of this is coming to an end anyway thankfully lol

The Saudis are not doing this out of a love of boxing . It’s all about control. If they get ahold of the reins in the future Middle Eastern fighters will dominate the rankings, guaranteed . Everyone else will get treated like a red headed stepchild .

I don't like the idea of pushing the heavyweights more than other weights. I understand the rationale , but feel like it would be better to push the best fighters fighting the best fights regardless of weight class.

It's about time that these dimwit promoters figured out that part of a pie is better than no pie. Shame on them for needing someone to come from the outside to make something so plain and simple visible to them. They've been screwing the fans , the fighters , the sport, and themselves for years. It's overdue for them to wise up. It would be great if this led to squeezing out the alphabet sanctioning gangsters and leaving one recognized Champion per weight class.

The problem with one network is that we will get a lot less fights per year.

The key for Turkie’s vision to come full circle is a three step process:

                    1. eliminate promoters and managers like Hearn, Warren, and Shelly Finkel, for example, who are basically doing no promoting or managing whatsoever while lining their pockets with easy Saudi money.

                    2. The corrupt sanctioning bodies would be eliminated altogether and instead fighters will fight for one belt in each weight division. No more promoter and fighter sanction fees. Instead, fighters will fight for a meaningful and prestigious championship belt. The belt alone would be worth six figures and be designed by Cartier.

                    3. The Saudi’s would welcome a truly independent oversight committee which they would fund to resolve any fighter dispute. This would eliminate the useless ABC, which is also run by corrupt idiots who do nothing to protect fighter anyway.

The Saudi’s would stage fights in the USA, Emirates, and EU where there would be a real boxing atmosphere. Fights would be shown free and income would derived from add revenue given the millions of viewers who would tune in. Bye bye to the pirated streaming services that currently have more viewers than paying PPV customers, and rip off PPV fees.

There would be no advertising from gaming sites, or alcohol based companies.

FYI, Bob Arum’s Top Rank is desperately trying to get in bed with Turkie because ESPN is not going to renew his deal.

Turkie is very interested in the UFC format where fighters fight each other without interference from corrupt Promoters and Managers. UFC President, Dana White may have a critical role for in the Saudi vision. Dana is Turkie’s go to person for guidance given his massive success. The UFC model is exactly what the Saudi’s are planning around. Fireworks, excitement, and massive fan appeal instead of the predictable mismatch, BS fights staged by boxing promoters.

The one area where the Saudi’s are having a difficult time dealing with are women fights. However, as long as those fights are not staged in Saudi, the problem has a solution because Turkie is aware of the mass fight appeal women have in the UFC.

Last, all fighters will be subject to VADA testing and any fighter guilty of cheating will receive a lifetime ban from the sport, and not be paid until their test come back negative.
I agree with this philosophy as the landscape of boxing, TV fights and everything has changed. The promoters are corrupt as well as the sanctioning bodies and TV Networks. If the Saudis can come in and clean up boxing then more power to them. I think the Saudi's need to be regulated by sanctioning bodies in America and other countries that produce boxers. As long as they are strictly regulated and controlled then I am for it. The Floyd Mayweather style of avoiding top contenders would be washed away forever.

Maybe they can purchase the UK.. because they essentially already have…

but they’re not taking over American outfits, that’s definitely not happening.
