Literally one player took a cheap shot at her, and that player takes cheap shots at everyone and is universally hated in the league for it. Everybody else in the league is treating Clark just like they treat all the rookies.

Every rookie and every player in the league takes hard fouls. It's part of playing contact sports.

Only one player went outside the norm of what you see in any basketball game at the high level. Men's, women's, professional, college, doesn't matter. It's a contact sport that allows free player movement, and part of that is hard fouls.

Clark isn't acting like she's being mistreated. She's not asking for people to white knight for her on the internet. She's a competitor, she knew this would happen, and she's playing through it like everybody else.

Her teammates aren't known for that kind of physical play. It's not a switch that people can just turn on or off at will. People are just fishing for narratives to be offended about.

Is there jealousy of Clark by some other players in the league? Yes, because all athletes are egotistical and jealous and every star rookie in every sport is a target.
Are there individual players that will step over the line? Again, yes, and again, it happens in all sports all the time.

Clark is doing fine. She doesn't need her teammates to baby her, she doesn't need her opponents to baby her. She came to the WNBA because she wanted a challenge and she's getting it. She could have stayed in college to be the queen of the nation and make pretty much the same money on NIL deals, but she stepped up. Her stats aren't very good at all, she's on a bad team, she's getting blitzed every play because she's the only capable ball handler on the court. She's taking her lumps and she'll come out of it better on the other side. She's not being treated any differently than LeBron James was as a rookie. Not any differently than Wemby in the NBA this year or Bedard in the NHL. The WNBA is a grown woman league and Clark will earn her respect.
