In situations like these, do guys like Balderas still get paid? It's not his fault his opponent came in at a different weight class.

You would hope they get something.

It appears the other guy didn't even attempt to make weight.

10lbs is a huge miss. I dont get what they were thinking because either he obviously was lying earlier throughout the week when he said his weight cut was on target or something whent really ****ing wrong with his weight cut but I can't think of what that would be considering he didn't claim to have any injuries that would have prevented him from fighting. Seems like he either just got lazy and didn't want to do any weight cut ...but if that was the closest he could get after draining himself then he was just trying to gain a huge weight advantage and is horrible at math. either way I'm really curious about what happened if anyone has an explanation or theory

2.0, sadly, from what I understand they do not get paid. It is not cool bc they still have bills, trainer, gym fees, flights, etc.. I do wonder if there would be a way to sue the party that comes in overweight. That should only be fair!

that is how you cancel a fight these days, just come in 10 pounds over and let them do another weigh in for another date----- guess tickets were not selling.

Damn Poop, I would think you could get a lawyer to take the case if he were to get 33%. Kinda like an accident attorney, that actually knew something about boxing contracts.
I don’t know much, but it’s not cheap to run a camp with sparring partners and treatments, etc.. That’s really some bulls***! Imho!
