Comments Thread For: Corrales-Castillo 1: The Unholy War

This weekend, Diego Corrales will be inducted posthumously into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. It is an arguably overdue honor for an extremely popular fighter, who won titles at 130 and 135 pounds and who was renowned for his indomitable fighting spirit.

With the trend of referees stopping fights way too quickly these day we might never get a fight like that again.

Remember the fight like it was last night. I get a kick out of Winky Wright in the back ground waving for Corrales to jump on Castillo

I, like many of the other NSB members, remember watching this fight live on TV like it was yesterday. I was visiting my parents for the weekend and my girlfriend at the time was watching with me.

Such a brutal and violent war with plenty of ebb and flow. While I appreciate what both warriors provided us that night, I'm also saddened to know that neither man left the ring as when they entered it. These wars come with a price, it's not one that the fans must pay...sometimes we should remember that before we criticize fighters.

I saw the fight live on tv. The hair on my arms saw standing straight. The best fight i ever watched. It was like watching a Rocky movie fight.

One of ,if not the greatest comeback to win a fight in boxing history , what a fight that was, absolute classic.

No doubt one of the best fights ever, period. This fight was pure poetic violence...

Great article on an "All time Great Fight". .Maybe Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney could watch a fight like this, and then try to throw more than 15-20 punches a round,, that "fight" was a WWE circus, compared to Corrales-Castillo.

                    RIP DIEGO CORRALES
