Before switching lanes, you have to look. Relying on mirrors is foolhardy. One simple turn of the head and the blind spot disappears. Too much reckless driving!

Its not that simple. Things are moving and its easy to lose a bike. Bikes are swift and can get into blind spots even after you looked that way. I agree, too much reckless driving.

One of the first things that a rider should learn is to never ride next to a car or truck. A bike should always be passing. Most bike / car wrecks occur when a vehicle cuts across the bikes path of travel while making a left at an intersection. I forgot the ratio to other types of wrecks , but it was something ridiculous.

So sad to read this news. I've ridden bikes all my life & was a full time courier back in the early 80's. I still treat all other road users like they are paid assassins out to get me when i'm out on a motorcycle. Traffic is worse now and cars/vans/lorries etc are bigger, safer & easier to drive. Unfortunately this has seemed to make things worse for bikers, as others feel safer they take more risks. Boxing & biking can both produce a lot of adrenaline so I guess that's why both are attractive to a lot of fighters. RIP Andy.
