  • Comments Thread For: Daniel Dubois Brings Buzz to Another Quality Card From Riyadh

Amid the rich heavyweight canvas that includes multiple active current or former world titleholders in their mid-to-late 30s - undisputed Oleksandr Usyk and ex-champions Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder, Joseph Parker and Andy Ruiz Jr. - a 26-year-old re-entered the conversation Saturday.

Don't really rate the Hrgovic win, Hrgovic has looked extremely uninterested since the passing of his father all the back turning he does, questionable stamina and his arrogance has cost him...

So truthfully i don't know if the "cloak" is lifted per say.

Or Dubois has just beat two questionable guys on the bounce and people are overrating them because Hrgovic was touted as the next Vitali and Miller was linked to AJ....

Tough one to please aren’t you? Apart from with Fury of course lol. Dubois was the significant underdog in that fight, weathered plenty of punches and beat the fight out of Hrgovic down the stretch in dominant fashion. I’d back that same Hrgovic to pancake Wilder and be no worse than even money with Parker, and that’s not to mention Dubois is a baby for a HW and no doubt improving with each fight.

I get the sense you’d equally diminish a win over AJ, claiming he wasn’t as good as advertised, and were he somehow to beat either Fury or Usyk, it would be because they’re “past it”. Let’s just give Dubois his props..he showed great character putting away Miller after those mid rounds and did a job on Hrgovic, which neither you, me or the vast majority of people on here predicted.

The way Daniel is open to a right hand is going to cause him problems. I’d have to side with Joshua for that one unless he of course gets his average whiskers tested.

No i don't rate any of Furys wins bar Wlad and maybe and it's a big maybe Wilder just because of his "historic reign" (questionable but still historically significant) you've got me fúcked up.

I don't even like Fury, he's an obnoxious cúnt, Usyk is the best heavyweight and I've believed that would be the case since he was a cruiserweight as long as he didn't bulk up too much.

No if he beats AJ he beats a decent heavyweight but I doubt he'd beat AJ, he isn't going to be throwing one right hand at a time and gassing after 3 rounds...

I did pick dubois actually back in april on these very forums, i've been mentioning Hrgovic and his tendency to turn his back, gas and looking disinterested on here and youtube for a long ass time.

Now I didn't predict anything to do with Miller because I didn't care.

Somebody better teach Dubois how to move his head. He ate a lot of right hands and it will be a different outcome from a fighter that has power

Ha fair enough mate, I agree with literally everything you’ve said and good call on Dubois if that was the case.

100% agreed. **** Bradley saying Hrgovic quit. Dubois beat it out of him...cut him up and took the win. I felt Hrgovic was overrated after the Zhang fight...and i believe its why he took a soft touch before coming into this fight. On the flipside...Dubois seemed flawed in a different but equal way. He showed in this fight that the outside noise...the taunts and questions...didnt get to him...but rather motivated and improved him. Like you say...hes a baby turning into a man...and i see a lot more coming for him in the years ahead.

It wasn't so much the case of picking Dubois it was my lack of faith in Hrgovic tbh, he's increasingly reminding me of Golota and it's only got worse since the passing of his father (Zhang fight).

P.S. His mental state not his "style".

The.Saudi people aren't really into boxing , yet. Maybe at some point they will be. Another thing that affects the atmosphere and attendance at the fights in my opinion is that the fights don't even start until, close to midnight. I haven't seen any women covered up at the fights,
I don't know if it's that Saudi women don't have to be covered up , or if they can't go to the fights.

I picked Dubois to beat Hrgovic. Dubois is being slept on by a lot of people here and it's understandable. I see a big strong heavweight, with power , a great motor, a pretty good chin , and a newly found determination. After having been humiliated earlier in his, career , I feel like Dubois is determined not to ever let himself and his resolve be questioned again. With his size , power , and will, power , I think that Dubois is dangerous for anyone in the division.
