Comments Thread For: New Champion Nick Ball Now Targeting Old Rival Rey Vargas' WBC Title

Liverpool's Nick Ball would like a rematch with Rey Vargas after winning the WBA featherweight title on Saturday night. The new champion took the belt from Raymond Ford on a split decision after a pulsating, high quality 12-rounder in Saudi Arabia and, in the aftermath, immediately set his sights on the WBC boss who held Ball to a draw in March.

Seems good to me, Vargas I feel got the rub of the green and Ford should've moved up already so Ball was perhaps lucky that Ford was struggling at the weight, otherwise i'd love to see them run it back at 130.

How about Venado Lopez IBF title or Divino Espinoza WBO title?

If Ball could learn a jab just enough to not let his opponents get set, he would win that fight. That is his only drawback for now. Taking those shots may catch up to him eventually.
unfortunately I think he may be close to his max weight, because how wicked rad would a fight between him and Pitbull be?

I'd like to see a rematch that one could have went either way. I feel ball got a lot of credit with work rate when he was missing a lot of the shots. Good work being the aggressor
