Andre Dirrell's Fighting Family Will Drive Him On

If Dirrell holds it together I think he'll win this fight. Although he's unproven I think he's a much better fighter than Froch. This is my breakdown of their attributes...

Foot Speed - Dirrell (although has sloppy footwork)
Reflexes - Dirrell
Skill - Dirrell
Defense - Dirrell
Combination Punching - Dirrell
Counter Punching - Dirrell
Ring Generalship - Dirrell
Accuracy - Dirrell
Strength - Froch
Power - Froch
Chin - Froch
Stamina - Froch (more proven than Dirrell)
Determination - Froch (again, more proven)
Intangibles - Dirrell

The only way I see Froch winning is by braking Dirrell down slowly while losing a lot of rounds and then and stopping him late. Something like the Margarito-Cotto fight. My money is on Dirrell by wide UD though.

Quite frankly, that's putting it lightly. Bambi's got better footwork then Dirrell.

I agree with VI. His footwork is good enough (to get him by inthis fight at least), though he does get sloppy and off balance when he steps to far and leaves he legs far apart.

The thing I want to see is how Froch will deal with a southpaw who is going to be moving around a lot. I saw a sparring photo and noticed that his lead footwas in inside his southpaw opponent's lead foot.

I would give accuracy, ring generalship and counter punching to froch as well, defence and footwork is even.

Dirrell's biggest problem is this fight is his sloppy footwork but of all the guys in the tournament Froch will be the least able to take advantage of it. Froch is slow and flatfooted and never cut the ring on Taylor. He only caught up with him when Taylor gassed otherwise he might have followed him around the ring for 30 rounds.

According to an article that was posted here, Dirrell appeared to be very energetic for a guy who just arrived in England from LA without sleeping.

But I still have reservations about him going 12.

It's clear from this interview that he has much more respect for Froch than Froch has for Dirrell. Can't wait to see where Froch's arrogance gets him on Saturday night.....
