If Roach was in the corner Cotto beat Margarito

I dont know if you agree with me but Im quite sure that if Freddy Roach was in Miguel Cotto's corner the night of the Margarito's fight he would give the right instructions to Cotto in order to win the fight.

Evangelista for me is a below average trainer and it showed in that fight. to give you an example review the fight again a pay attention to his instructions to Cotto, in one mement in the late rounds that Cotto was clearly out of gas but still giving his 150% the uncle instruction was "Throw your punches hard, pop it" so that mean he didnt have a clue about what to say to his pupil but a discouraging order.

However by his side I see that no matter what the circumstances are Roach keep his cool and provide his fighter with accurate instructions accordingly with the situation. And now look at what his doing with Pacquiao, he protect his fighter and is letting everybody know that he is fighter wont be alone on the fight night and I call that taking care of business.

And again I blame Evangelista for the deterioration of Cotto's career for dont take care of business and allow Margarito and his team to use illegal hand wrap.

Roach is a master at figuring out styles.

He is a true student of boxing.

Roach ability to analyze fighters and reveal their weakness has no equal in boxing.

Im not saying Cotto will outright win against Margarito but with Roach in there, his chances are better.

Also Margarito using handwraps in Cotto fight is a speculation.

Margarito just has the style to beat Cotto.

          Maybe but who cares?

Margs is suspended.. who knows when exactly he'll be back.

And Cotto is fighting the #1 P4P in the world and is getting a bigger payday than Marg ever got..

If he wins he'll get even more money! .. not bad for a guy who is on the downside of his career because of 1 loss...

That loss made Cotto a better fighter.. he doesnt have to worry about the 0 anymore..

so who's the real winner.. ? Not bad for having a ****ty corner...

Roach would have helped him most by making sure Margarito's hands were wrapped correctly. Aside from that, Cotto could also have benefited immensely from his tactical awareness and strategy. Margarito's style would always give Cotto hell (especially because Cotto refuses to clinch) but Cotto came into the fight with a terrible gameplan. He'd beat Margarito in a rematch if he's still the same fighter IMO.

i think roach would've told cotto to clinch on the inside.

Other than Pacquiao and Amir Khan. Outside of his regular boxers: When was the last time you seen Roach help anyone win a fight? From my recent history I remember Bernard Hopkins and Delahoya and they both loss with Roach in their corner.
