Explain the term "boxing"

I've heard just box, box this kid! Instead of saying outboxing, some people say boxing. You could have said to fight from the outside, a good distance.

it means you're out thinking your opponent,keeping the distance you need,beating them to the punch,showing them angles they dont wanna fight at..using movement to slip punches..you know putting on a clinic on..

Boxing is landing one single punch or a combo on your opponent, then moving out of range everytime you finish. When you box you stay out of range, use your jab, don't go punch for punch and finish combos with a defensive move( blocking, ducking, clinching,..). You move also and create angles.
