Comments Thread For: Raymond Ford vs Nick Ball: Big-Fight Preview

For heavyweight junkies, Deontay Wilder-Zhilei Zhang and Filip Hrgovic-Daniel Dubois will be the can't-miss collisions on this weekend's Saudi Arabia bill. For those who prefer to cast their eyes over up-and-coming talent with a view to identifying superstars of the future, the sumptuous middleweight clash between Hamzah Sheeraz and Austin "Ammo" Williams will certainly get the juices flowing. Yet for the out-and-out purist, those who like their contests to be high on both quality and energy, the battle that sees Nick Ball challenge newly minted WBA featherweight kingpin Raymond Ford might just be the most enticing of the lot.

Ford should move up to face Shock Foster after this.

Why? Too short reach? Will be outmaneuvered?

Ball has a shot. No extra points, neutral ground. Ford had to pull a rabbit out of a hat in his last out v who. Ball was picking up steam v Vargas.

Ford has already proven that he is lethal all the way up to the end of the fight. Besides that he has all of the advantages in height, reach, and youth.
In a hard fight Ford prevails, because of all of his advantages over Nick Ball, who'll start getting bounced around the ring like a ball in the latter rounds.

Guess not. I thought he'd get chewed up from the outside. I thought Ford had a major speed advantage. Got it wrong but Im glad Nick Ball won.

Fair enough. That is Ball's biggest weakness, that short reach. He wings a lot of punches, which would tire out a lot of guys after a bunch of misses, but he keeps going, and the landed ones add up damage.
