According to Graham Houston, Mtagwa's TKO loss to Salido was due to injury.

Mtagwa, 27, is becoming accustomed to fighting tough Mexicans. He won wars against Fernando Trejo and Joe Morales, two well-respected fighters, but lost to Orlando Salido — a fight in which Mtagwa was competitive but suffered a torn rib cartilage that led to his corner pulling him out before the start of round six. It was a bitterly disappointing result for Mtagwa, but he might be feeling better about it after the way Salido gave Robert Guerrero a boxing (and fighting) lesson last weekend.
