i want this fight for scull. i don't care about canelo. he fought final eliminator 2 years ago. it's NOT corruption! blame fighters for refusing eliminators. corruption is allowing golovkin3, bivol, jermell and munguia fights without stripping.

blame canelo for fighting 4 voluntary fights out of his last 5 despite holding 4 belts hostage. and that 1 mandatory fight was against an opponent who just became a mandatory. ryder got his shot immediately while the other 3 guys waited for years. canelo should have been stripped of 3 belts 2 years ago because he had no intention of fighting benavidez, morrell and scull.

also it's your job as a fan to follow every division, every ranking, every eliminator and title fight AT LEAST every month, every year. that's being a fan of the sport. watching some highlights and full fights of like 3-4 stars is not being a fan of boxing. that's being a fanboy or a glory hunter.

NOTE: every sanctioning body should add and enforce this rule: "a champion can only fight another champion (same or adjacent division) or his mandatory." then these dumb inactive clowns couldn't just wait for their VOLUNTARY shot and would actually have to fight for their title shot. also if you want to keep 3 or 4 belts you have to defend them at least 3 times a year. that would also prevent observations like "he fought nobody" because every champion and title challenger would have to fight at least 2 top10 ranked fighters on their way.

Can’t respect Canelo until he fights three current champions at the same time. Anything less is cherry picking…

His last three fights were 8/6/8 rounds. How in the flying **** did this guy get a title shot?

his eliminator was vs. shvedenko 2 years ago in a 12 round fight. those 2 were the highest rated boxers that ACCEPTED the invitation and they paid sanctioning fees. scull DESERVES a title shot. you know who doesn't deserve it? so called better boxers that REFUSE eliminators and don't pay anything.

I remember when Canelo wouldn't fight his mandatory (GGG), and dropped the WBC belt saying he wouldn't be ditctated to. I wonder what his position will be this time. "My hands are tied. I must fight Scull"

I guess this just goes to show you that eliminators can lead to unsatisfactory bouts. Scull hasn't fought anyone seriously considered a contender.

                    - Canelo is backed into a corner to honor the ibf’s obligation because he wants to remain undisputed.
                    - Scull is an undefeated #1 contender and has earned his shot
                    - Scull is Cuban so this is basically the same as giving Lara the rematch fans wanted to happen a decade ago.
Good points all around. People may not know who Scull is but he’s probably much better than Berlanga, who thinks that continuing to say, “I’m Puerto Rican!” over and over again makes him deserving of a title shot against Canelo.

Yes. Canelo listens to sanctioning bodies. This was my laugh for the day.
