Okay, I’m sorry, how can this not be some type of corruption? Seriously, try to explain how this mandatory happens, other than corruption, can’t do it. I don’t know exactly what form the corruption takes, whether it may be flagrant bribes, doing favours for friends, consulting with Canelo’s camp about an opponent they want, but too much of this in boxing for too long.

How hilarious would it be if this dude beat Canelo?

Not Munguia, Charlo(s), Benavidez, Janibek, Beterbiev, or Morrell. But some guy I've never heard of despite watching every televised or streamed boxing card.

that seems the most likely scenario since scull has no power in boxing so i dont see why the ibf would move him up their rankings unless someone wanted him moved up...wilder and pbc did this crap all the time to get him easy defenses. all the pbc guys ended up in their rankings and they even skipped over whyte who was #1 to order a mandatory between breazele who was like #6 and molina who was #12. in the end wilder got the opponent he wanted and that was all that mattered. i doubt this fight happens since its so bad but i think its just a backup option for canelo to put pressure on berlanga to take a reduced deal, after that the ibf will delay the mandatory etc etc...start all over again after berlanga

He isnt fighting him its just one of sanctioning bodies with their own agenda, nobody cares about belts time for Canelo to throw the belts in the bin and just fight the big fights.

Should this fight happen, I won’t ask canelo fans if they’ll defend it because we all know that they will. Dignity doesn’t exist for them. What I want to know is what excuses will they make? I’ll help get Yall started.
                    - Canelo is backed into a corner to honor the ibf’s obligation because he wants to remain undisputed.
                    - Scull is an undefeated #1 contender and has earned his shot
                    - Scull is Cuban so this is basically the same as giving Lara the rematch fans wanted to happen a decade ago.
