    Fury Underestimated Usyk's Power

First few rounds were feeling out rounds. Next few were Fury's. And then he got ****y. He'd felt a bit of Usyk's punch power in the first half of the fight and I think he thought he could take it.

Boy was he wrong. The way Usyk picked those shots in the 9th was beautiful. Being able to get up off single shots from WIlder and Ngannou gave Fury over confidence. That said the fact he didn't go to sleep was admirable. AJ would have been done if he had taken that punishment. It was way worse than what AJ took from Ruiz.

Usyk paced himself better. He looked gassed at about the halfway mark but then got his second wind in the last quarter of the fight. Fury gassed later so only got his second wind in round 11-12.

If we were still in the days of 15 rounders we could have had a hell of a finish.

Can't argue with that. Also left himself wide open with the low hands, leaning back, lying on the ropes, trying but failing to be elusive chit. A serious Fury with a high guard would be a totally different proposition for Usyk.

He dropped his guard when he thought the fight had gone out of Usyk, he was styling on him...but he was badly mistaken.

not at all……the 8th round when usyk landed that left on fury’s nose should have served him notice…..he dropped his guard because his stamina was leaving him……look at the 8th round to get some idea of what usyk was doing

But he lifted his guard in subsequent rounds, and looked much better for it. I just think Fury's not fully mentally focused, he gets carried away with himself, and sloppy at times.

There was one of the bouts where it looked like Joshua could've been stopped, he was badly gassed, not as dramatic as Fury's Round 9 mind.

Nah, his arms were down because he was exhausted IMO Usyk had been touching him to the body since the opening bell, and in his own words "would not leave him alone" at one point I remember Fury grabbing him to lean, and Usyk turned it into a headlock which is the worst thing for someone whos trying to gain his stamina back. Then he got his nose busted in the 8th which makes breathing a MF.

Fury didn’t underestimate ****, constantly smiling and sticking your tongue out and things like that have historically been signs that punches hurt more than someone is letting on.

It’s somehow showboating when Fury does it though.

12th round of the first fight. McCracken was even waiving the towel at the ref.
