Have you ever heard of a GOOD big man vs a GREAT little man? Oh, uh, ah...

Now you know why mofo wanted no part of Usyk.
Ducking should be the top criterion when ranking fighters.

I agree that Fury ducked Usyk. But really just fighter's records should be used. Furys record is pretty poor. Only 4 (?) title defenses his whole career and has fought only three top-10 guys now in 8 years. Fury is still a good fighter though. He had the best of the first 7 rounds againsy Usyk. The rematch is not a foregone conclusion.

Also Usyk is really the only little guy who has managed this. and you could see how he struggled at times to get to Fury. IF Usyk didn't have a great chin, he wouldn't have won no matter what skills he had. He had to take some big shots against AJ too.

The difference between the two men was summed up in how they responded to the identical question in their pre-fight interviews: Fury declared that if he won the fight he should be regarded as possibly the greatest heavyweight of all time (with his over-the-hill Kitschko, Dillian Whyte, Chisora, Wilder resume ). Usyk just shrugged and said “I don’t think about such things”.

One is a man of honour who, against the so-called odds, fought his heart out, showed incredible grit and WON. The other is a loudmouth, showboating, narcissistic chump (who does admittedly possess great fighting ability).

So while there may not have been “much in it” on the score cards…where it REALLY counts…Fury was horribly outmatched by a classy, courageous, humble warrior.

I had it a draw but could have easily gone either way. Had Fury well on top until he started pratting about and got dinged. Never seen anything so comfortable go to sh1zz so quickly. No doubt that Usyk had him all over the shop. A worthy winner.

I also think that there will be no rematch. I believe this will be like Lewis - Vitali where I believe Lewis simply did not want to put that level of effort into another war. The main difference here is that Lennox won that fight. Fury knows how many dudes in the past have had another guy that has their number and that would be an insane amount of work to potentially end your career with 2 losses.

There should not be no rematch. They will have another ref who will try to save Fury from another KO.

Usyk should retire as ATG he beat them all and let Fury and AJ have their MONEY fight

I think Fury did very well and showed his resilience, heart and incredible recovery plus stamina. He has no shame in this loss.

But this also exposes so many Fury fan boys on this forum who still can’t accept their favourite fighter lost convincingly and those who wrote off AJ after his defeat to the ‘middleweight’. Too much tribalism. How many Fury fan boys will admit that any other fighter would have been stopped by referee in 9th round - if it was AJ in same situation you lot would have been talking about a ‘fix’ from the Saudis.

I personally didn’t expect Usyk to do so well but his path to Fury was perfect- taking Chisora, AJ and Dubois meant really Fury would struggle to hurt him decisively and he learned he is able to hurt the biggest heavyweights in later rounds.

Usyk did exactly what Bellew talked about last week – he didn't let Fury breathe. Yes, Fury was clacking him to the body and that uppercut couldn't miss at times, but he was being forced to fight at Usyk's pace the whole fight. Man, that guy has one huge sack of nuts on him... Cleans out CW, then steps up to Joshua twice, and now Fury.

When have we last seen such a close p4p debate? Three undefeated, two-weight undisputed champions. It has to be 1A, 1B and 1C.

I know some boxers play chess but I think it has almost nothing to do with boxing. If you play a lot of chess - I don't think it helps you think ahead in boxing at all. You just get good at chess. Chess-thinking is slow too.

I think playing a versus fighter videogame at a high level would probably help more. The skills are actually more transferable - setting up reads/patterns etc. And the thinking needs to be ultra fast

If he keeps ducking to his left, throw a low right hook or uppercut. If he pulls straight back, follow him out. If he has that high guard, throw a hook to pull the hands away and follow it with a punch down the center...

I wouldn't say it has zero effect but the brain doesn't work very generally like that. For example all those brain training games have now been debunked. What really happens is you just get better and better at the one particular game you keep playing. Because your brain builds very specific circuits over time to make you better at that one game.

Something like dancing is much closer to boxing (+includes learning moves) and like I said before versus fighter video games.

But really all you need to do is actually box or train on POV computer simulations of random opponents. I'm sure that would help a lot more
