It's not practiced here.
Probably is somewhere down in Mississippi, or the Carolinas.
Still, it's generally looked down upon by at least 70% of the population, and personally I don't care ; I just like giving Roy **** about it whenever people mention what a nice guy he is.Comment

I live in the South, now.

Tradition and culture have different meanings for different people. I don't like bullfighting but I respect the cultures which have bullfights.
And the people that like it, I think they are nice people, they just engage in something I don't understand.
Same for eating dog. I lived in South Korea and had one friend who ate boshingtang, dog soup, although it was uncommon to do, he was a nice guy all the same. It's his culture.Comment

Still, given all of my intrest in the subject ; "culture" itself is almost as bad as "religion" as a means of giving one free license to act less then human at best, and barbaric at worst.Comment

To the topic, I don't think either act was inhumane or barbaric.
Seems like they both had valid reasons for deading ole fido...Comment

Where i am from shooting a dog because it bit a child is common... now if he did it because he wanted to try out a new gun i would consider it cruel.Comment
